David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.

The comedian

Best-selling writer for children and TV personality David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.

A spokesman for the company stated: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an investigation into reports of inappropriate behaviour directed at women.

The publisher declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

A Prolific Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.

To date, he has released more than 40 books combined, encompassing a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

From Screen to Page

He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE in 2017 for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
